This is the last update for this project. It will remain incomplete.
The combat has been touched up yet again. The inclusion of magic prooved difficult, the animator had to be extended quiet significantly and I ran into some problems. After that, animations had to be done.
30 magic spells with more or less unique animations were created. 2 of those had to be altered heavily, because due to some mistake in how the rig was set up, they could not been realized how they were inted. 2 more were cut to being impossible due to afore mentioned problems. The spells were supposed to be collectables and then to be equiped by the player. Up to 4 slots for spells exist, with each spells having an alternative effect once unlocked. So, the maxiumum usable spells at a time rises to 8. This build only has access to 8 spells:
R1 + <One of the 4 facebuttons> -> Pressing and holding the button releases different magic
Animations are all done, but the effects is where I stopped the project. Sad.
What went wrong?
The project was rather big in scope, it was planned to be about 3 - 4 hours of gameplay.
Unfortunately, a lot of small problems added up and the project became unmanageble. I included a design doc with this log. It is really crude, goes to show just how horribly I handled the management of everything. If you like, check it out, but most things there are rough and some informations might not even make sense. Also, it highlights the scope pretty well, tho no everything written there was serious/supposed to be in the game. Lore and story would have been non-existend, for example.
If you read this, thanks. It has been 3 years, I made lots of mistakes and progress. Eventually, one has to admit his limitations. I will start a new Project. Would be nice if you could read those updates too.
