Here is some feedback regarding the gamepad:
My PS4 was not detected right away, but when I unplugged and plugged it back in it worked. Unfortunately the right stick was stuck to the top left so I was not able to look around.
Xbox Controller (PS3 mapped to Xbox) works fine though.
The sensitivity on the right stick is kinda high; that controller doesn't have stick drift as far as I know.
And some general feedback:
I know the HUD is probably not implemented yet, but it would be really helpful to have a representation of the items you have stashed not only on the back of the character but also in some corner of the screen.
Also a little tutorial or a menu showing what button does what would be helpful.
Navigating the world with the character feels fluid, but there is lasting stuttering when you walk a staircase and even when the staircase is "exited".
The camera only stops shaking when you stop moving.
That does also happen on these little spikes on the ground.
I like the attack animation, but the recovery time feels too long. It's ok, if your character has attacked and cannot do any more attacks until recovered, but it would be nice to be able to move during that time (I think Dark Souls works like that)
Everything else like models and animations looks pretty solid so far.
And last but not least I liked the animation on the umbrella, didn't expect that :D
Regarding the Controller: Thanks for the feedback, kinda hard to fix this tho. I will do my best in a future update.
'HUD is probably not implemented yet,' - Correct. I want the game to be playable without any kind of HUD, but it is planned to be toggleable in the options, once those are implemented.
'there is lasting stuttering when you walk a staircase and even when the staircase is "exited"' - It is on my List ;)
Seems like the game accumulated a lot of small 'hickups', will be patched once the items are implemented accordingly.
Thanks for playing.
Gamepad works alright. Movement feels pretty decent actually. The follow up charge attack made me clip into some triangles a bit but my character readjusted fine.
I noticed a pick up and eat animation, do you have Rune as an inspiration?
I know about Rune, but I did not take any inspiration from it. Have not even played it. I am curious tho, which animation suggests eating to you? That is not in the game, but you can use potions, which might look similar to it.
The clipping is a known and will be fixed at a later time, probably when the first demo will be uploaded.
Thanks for playing ;).
Oh really?
Well when the character picked up the test object it just looked like she was bringing it close to her face and throwing it away. In Rune the character just took a single bite and threw it away so that’s why I thought it was similar. That’s cool though if you didn’t have it in mind.
Looking forward to seeing the game progress.
